Checking out for a trip
Make sure the vehicle is in good shape and document its condition during checkout when you return a host’s vehicle. Once you complete checkout, you’ll have successfully ended your trip.
Check the vehicle
Power up
Refill the gas or recharge the battery to the same level it was at check-in. If you fail refuel, your host may send a reimbursement invoice for the cost to replace missing gas plus an convenience fee or for the cost of battery recharging, including any Supercharger and Idle fees.
Keep cleanliness in mind
You aren’t expected to clean the vehicle before returning it, but review Resortifi’s Cleaning policy. If you return the vehicle in a condition that only could have been caused by irresponsible or abusive behavior, your host can report the issue to Resortifi and charge a $150 (€ in France) violation fee. In extreme cases, we could remove you from our platform.
Park smart
If you’re parking on the street, choose a spot that's legal and safe for the next 24 hours. You’re responsible for any parking tickets or towing costs incurred within 24 hours after the trip end.
Document vehicle condition
Take photos documenting the vehicle’s fuel level, mileage, and condition inside and out. This is essential to protect yourself in case of pre-existing damage or cleaning/smoking issues and to manage reimbursement requests for post-trip incidentals. Use the Resortifi app to take and upload photos; it’ll walk you through 16 suggested shots to make your photo documentation complete.
Leave the keys
Leave the keys in a secure location following your host’s instructions. If your host hasn’t given you guidance, contact them and ask. If you’re not able to connect, take a photo of the key’s location and message your host to let them know where they can find the keys.
End the trip
Once you’ve returned the vehicle, taken and uploaded photos via checkout, and left the keys, you’ve successfully ended your trip.
