Adding a driver to a trip

Requesting to add a driver

Follow these suggestions to make the approval process for your driver as smooth as possible:

  • Have your driver create a Resortifi account and get approved to drive before you submit your request to add them to your trip

  • Be sure your driver meets the age requirements for the car you’ve booked

  • Submit your request via the Resortifi system at least 24 hours before your trip starts

    • If we need additional documentation to complete their verification, the process could take longer.
    • If necessary, you can request to add a driver while your trip is in progress

Review these responsibilities that fall to you as the primary driver:

  • You must be the one to pick up and return the car
  • You assume all financial responsibility for the car during the trip
  • If you allow anyone who wasn’t approved by Resortifi to drive, it’ll void your protection plan
  • You aren’t responsible for any fee or additional charge for adding a driver

How to add a driver to a trip

Take these steps to request and to add a driver:

  1. Log onto Resortifi or sign into the app and open the Trips tab
  2. Choose Booked and open the trip you’re interested in
  3. Scroll down to the section labeled DRIVERS
  4. Tap “Add driver”
  5. Enter the email tied to your driver’s Resortifi account: if they don’t have an account, enter a valid email they check regularly
  6. Advise your additional driver to look for an email from Resortifi and that it could end up routed to their spam or junk folder

How to check your driver’s approval status

Open the Trip details page to see your additional driver’s approval status. If the email you entered for your driver doesn’t match the email they used to create their Resortifi account, you won’t see a change in their status. We’ll send your driver an email letting them know if we were able to approve them or not. If the email says they were approved, they can drive on the trip. If they weren’t approved, have them review these common reasons why we may have been unable to approve them.
