Selecting pickup and return

You can select your preferred pickup and return location when searching for a vehicle on Resortifi.

Choosing a pickup option

You can adjust your search to see all available vehicles or vehicles you can pick up at or near your search location. Enter an address or point of interest such as an airport, train station or hotel, select your trip dates, then filter by pickup option.

Choose the correct address when you book as some hosts offer pickup at multiple locations. Once you choose a location, we’ll display the check-in method the host has specified for that location. Some hosts charge a fee for pickup at certain locations. If there’s a fee at a pickup location you choose, we’ll display it next to the location on the host’s vehicle listing.

Paying for pickup and parking

If you select a pickup location where a host charges a fee, we’ll charge that fee as part of your total trip cost. If you add pickup after you book, we’ll charge the pickup fee then. The pickup fee covers the cost of the host dropping off the vehicle at the start of the trip and picking it up at the end of the trip. If you paid for pickup then change to a location without a fee, we’ll initiate a refund to your payment method on file. You must pay for pickup via the Resortifi app or website. Paying hosts directly violates our Gray market transaction policy and Terms of Service.

If you’ll be picking up a vehicle in a parking facility that requires you to pay a fee to exit, the host must disclose that information in their vehicle listing. Read the listing carefully before you book to learn if there’s a parking fee associated with pickup and if you’ll be responsible for that cost. See more about paying for parking below.

Changing pickup or return location

You’re not able to set one location for pickup and a different location for return when you book your trip. But once the trip is booked or in progress, you can request to change your pickup or return location. The new location must be one where the host already offers pickup, or it must be within their custom pickup radius. If the price for the new return location is different than that for the original, it may change your pickup fee. If you change the return location only, we’ll calculate a new pickup fee that’s a total of 50% of the pickup fee for the original location plus 50% of the fee for the new location. Note: Your host has eight hours (or less, if your trip starts or ends sooner than that) to approve or decline your request. If they don’t respond or they decline your request, you must pick up and/or drop off the vehicle at the original book location. In the unlikely event we notify you of an injunction that prohibits Resortifi vehicle pickups and returns at an airport where you’ve arranged for pickup, message your host immediately. Once you agree on a new pickup and/or return location, request to change the pickup location in the Resortifi system. Only changes processed through the system are valid. If you’re unable or unwilling to change to an alternative location, you can cancel your trip without penalty by calling (415) 963-4109. If you arrive at the airport to pick up the vehicle after the injunction effective date, the vehicle won’t be there. If you try to return the vehicle after the effective date, there won’t be a place where you can legally leave the vehicle. Injunction violations can have serious legal consequences for you and for Resortifi.

Coordinating pickup with your host

Your host may have included pickup instructions in their vehicle listing, so check there for more information. Resortifi has agreements at certain airports that specify where guests and hosts can pick up and return vehicles. If you’re meeting in person, use Resortifi messaging to confirm how, where, and when you’ll meet. Hosts aren't permitted to ask guests for a ride home after dropping off their vehicle. Contact us if your host makes such a request. You can coordinate pickup and return by using Resortifi’s Location Sharing feature in the app. Location Sharing is active two hours before and one hour after trip start, and it’s active one hour before and two hours after trip end.

The trip begins when you receive the keys or unlock a remote vehicle. It doesn’t include the host’s travel time to meet you. The fuel used and mileage driven by your host to drop off the vehicle is their responsibility, not yours. Take a photo of the fuel level and odometer reading when you pick up and when you return the vehicle.
