Adding Extras to a trip

Some hosts offer conveniences or gear you can add to your trip. Extras are always optional; you aren’t required to purchase them to book a trip.

Types of Extras

Extras are optional add-ons to your trip that offer you greater ease and more adventure. One type of Extra is convenience options — this includes options such as Prepaid refuel or Unlimited mileage. The other type of Extra is gear — this includes items such as picnic baskets, bicycles, kayaks, and other physical items.

If a host offers Extras, you’ll see them displayed on their Vehicle page. You’re not required to purchase an Extra in order to book a vehicle. You can add or delete Extras from your trip up until the scheduled start time. Open the Trips tab, select your Booked trip, and tap/click on “Modify trip.”

Note about two popular Extras: If you purchase a Prepaid refuel Extra, you won’t receive a refund for any unused fuel. If you purchase a Pet Extra, your host could still report a cleaning issue and charge a violation fee if there’s evidence of a post-trip cleaning issue that could have only resulted from irresponsible or abusive behavior.

Cost of Extras

Hosts set a price from $0 to $999 for an Extra and price them per day or per trip, so read the item carefully. We’ll display the cost of any Extras as a separate line item on the checkout screen before you book your trip. If, at the start of a trip, a host doesn’t provide you with a physical item Extra you purchased, we’ll refund you the cost of that item.

Protection plan coverage for Extras

Extras aren’t covered under any protection plan made available through Resortifi, and Resortifi isn’t responsible for the condition of Extras. Resortifi isn’t liable for any damage, injury, bodily harm, or losses of any kind caused by Extras or the use of Extras. Hosts may request reimbursement related to lost or damaged Extras. If they do, it’ll be outside of Resortifi, without our involvement, and in compliance with our Terms of Service.

Prohibited Extras

Resortifi prohibits hosts from offering certain Extras. These include: illegal, lewd, or inappropriate items; food, alcohol, drugs, or weapons; the use of rentable properties; deposits or convenience fees; tows or tow services; anything that violates Resortifi’s Terms of Service, Prohibited uses, or Community Guidelines. If you discover a host is offering any prohibited Extras, tap “Report this listing” on the Vehicle page.
