Driving across borders
Follow Resortifi’s guidelines for travel across country borders. Failure to do so may reduce or void your protection plan and insurance coverage, and you’d be responsible for all roadside assistance costs and any costs to retrieve the vehicle.
Eligible border crossings
You can drive a vehicle booked on Resortifi anywhere in the country in which your trip originated. There are no restrictions for driving across state or province borders. Resortifi does have guidelines in place for driving across country borders.
United States and Canada
You can drive a vehicle booked in the US or Canada across the US-Canadian border. You can’t cross the US-Mexico border.
Australia
You can drive a vehicle booked in Australia anywhere in Australia — there are no geographic travel restrictions.
France
You can drive a vehicle booked in France in any of the following: Andorra, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland.
United Kingdom
You can drive a vehicle booked in the UK in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland. Tips for crossing the border
- Confirm that your host has left a copy of their vehicle registration and personal insurance card in the vehicle for you
- Download a copy of the car-sharing agreement; if a border officer asks to see written permission that allows you to drive the vehicle, show them this agreement
- Know where to find the incident information card; in the unlikely event of an accident, you’ll need this information
