Repairing or replacing a flat
Once you’ve arranged for help, call your host. If the tire can be repaired, it might be best to have the repair done. If there’s sidewall damage or the tire can’t be repaired, get your host’s OK to replace the tire with one of equal or greater quality. You’re not responsible for replacing any non-damaged tires. Pay for the cost of the tire at full price, regardless of tire use before the incident.
Note: Keep the receipt for repairs or replacements. If we determine you weren’t responsible for the flat, we'll reimburse you that amount.
Responsibility for a flat tire
If you and your host can’t agree on how to handle the cost of repairing or replacing the tire, report the flat tire damage in Resortifi’s damage reporting center. When your host files a claim, the protection plan you chose would be in effect. Resortifi’s Claims team will review pre- and post-trip photos to understand the cause of the flat tire and determine who must bear the cost of the damage.
You’re responsible for the vehicle during the booked trip, so, depending on the circumstances, you may be required to cover the cost of damage. If we determine you’re financially responsible, we’ll let you know within two days after a damage claim is filed. If we determine you aren’t financially responsible and you paid to repair or replace the tire with your host's permission, you can send us the receipt, and we'll reimburse you the amount.
Note: Hosts are responsible for flat tire damage costs if the flat was caused by deterioration, age, rot, or a pre-existing condition.
Protection plans that cover flat tire costs
Guests in the US, Australia, Canada, or France who choose the Premier protection plan won’t have to pay flat tire costs, regardless of who’s found to be responsible. If tire damage results from engaging in any Prohibited uses, your protection plan won’t cover repair or replacement. You’ll be fully responsible for paying the damage costs.
