About Quebec sales tax

Resortifi is required to collect Quebec Sales Tax (QST) on Quebec residents booking a trip in any Canadian province. Resortifi isn’t required to collect QST from Quebec residents who book a trip outside of Canada nor from residents of other provinces.

QST is calculated at 9.975% of the Resortifi fee (Resortifi’s take rate of the earnings).

Viewing GST, HST, and QST earnings deductions

As a US-based company, Resortifi doesn’t prepare T2/T4 for hosts. To see GST, HST, and QST earnings deductions refer to trip receipts, download the trip earnings CSV, or view the tax information page, currently updated annually. As of December 15, 2023, we’ll display host earnings as the amount earned by hosts, minus any services tax or sales tax collected for the trip. This update applies to all current and historic host earnings data.

If you’re registered to collect QST, you may be eligible for a refund from Resortifi for deducted taxes. To inquire, email us at (email) and use the subject line “TAX REFUND REQUEST — Name of applicable tax.” Include the reason for the request and supporting documentation, if applicable.
