Guest flat tire – US, Australia, Canada
Managing a tire repair or replacement
If your guest gets a flat tire, we advise them to immediately contact Resortifi’s roadside assistance provider then contact you to coordinate a replacement or repair. If the damaged tire is repairable, it might be best for your guest to have the repair done. If there's sidewall damage or the tire isn't repairable, give your guest approval to replace the tire with one of equal or greater quality. Your guest isn’t responsible for replacing any of the non-damaged tires.
Note: If a guest contacts you first, have them call our roadside assistance provider:

Responsibility for a flat tire
Your guest is responsible for a flat tire if they accidentally damage the tire or if the flat is a result of vandalism during their trip. However, if the flat tire is a result of neglect or poor maintenance, you’ll be responsible for the damage costs. Specifically, you’ll bear the cost of tire replacement or repair if it’s professionally documented that the flat resulted from:
- a defect
- a cut, gouge, bulge, or bubble on the sidewall
- excessive wear that made it unsafe to drive at the start of the trip
- improper inflation at the start of the trip
- a tread depth of less than 4/32”
- signs of dry rot
- an age of more than six years
If you and your guest can’t agree on how to handle the cost of repairing or replacing the tire, report the flat tire damage in Resortifi’s damage reporting center no later than 24 hours after the trip ends. We encourage you to resolve the claim directly with your guest whenever possible. This lets you control the process and avoid paying administrative fees and costs. However, if you choose to file a claim, the individual protection plan chosen by each party will be in effect. Resortifi’s Claims team will review pre- and post-trip photos to understand the cause of the flat tire and determine who must bear the cost of the damage.
