Replacement parts and key coverage

Resortifi’s coverage of OEM, LKQ, and aftermarket parts is tied to the age and mileage of a vehicle and includes coverage for lost or damaged keys.

Aftermarket and OEM parts coverage

Resortifi covers reasonable and necessary repairs of trip-related damage, including the use of like, kind, quality (LKQ) parts and the use of aftermarket parts. If your vehicle has aftermarket replacement parts and they’re damaged, your protection plan will cover them. In the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK, if the keys are lost or so damaged that they’re unusable, your protection plan will cover them.

  • For vehicles that are two years old or newer and have fewer than 24,000 miles (39,000 kilometres) at the start of the trip: Resortifi will reimburse the cost for OEM parts. We'll also reimburse the cost of OEM keys for hosts in all countries except France.
  • For vehicles that are more than two years old or have more than 24,000 miles (39,000 kilometers) at the start of the trip: Resortifi will reimburse the lesser cost of aftermarket, LKQ, or OEM replacement parts. We'll also reimburse the cost of non-OEM keys for hosts in all countries except France.

Aftermarket accessories

  • We’ll pay the cost of repair/replacement for aftermarket accessories that are permanently attached to the vehicle, including wheels, wraps, and clear covers. This doesn’t include aftermarket accessories that don't replace original parts, such as roof racks, camper tops, or tonneau covers, for example, or items you offer as Extras.
  • We’ll cover damage to wheelchair-accessible equipment, including lifts, ramps, and related parts.
  • In the event of a total loss, the actual cash value (ACV) includes the cost of aftermarket parts, accessories, and/or other modifications only to the extent that they increase the overall ACV of the vehicle.
