No smoking policy | Hosts

This policy addresses the definition and scope of Resortifi’s position on smoking in vehicles on the platform and guidelines for handling policy violations.

Policy

Resortifi’s no smoking policy covers the use of, but isn’t limited to, any tobacco or tobacco-related products, marijuana or marijuana substitutes, e-cigarettes, or personal vaporizers.

Resortifi prohibits smoking in any vehicle listed on the platform. Hosts must provide guests with a smoke-free vehicle. If you smoke in your vehicle or allow anyone else to do so, you shouldn’t list your car on Resortifi.

Violations

Host violations

If at check-in a guest finds evidence of smoking or detects smoke odor from any of the prohibited substances, they can report the issue to Resortifi, and we’ll notify you. The guest will also have the option to cancel the trip.

If the guest cancels the trip at check-in, we’ll process it as a host cancellation and will be unable to issue you earnings. Multiple cancellations for smoking issues may trigger an account review, and repeated cancellations will negatively impact your host metrics. As a last resort but when appropriate, we may remove you from Resortifi as per our Terms of service.

Guest violations

Hosts can report smoking and charge a guest a smoking violation fee only if circumstances meet one of the criteria listed below. If the evidence submitted shows an eligible policy violation, we’ll charge the guest a violation fee and credit those funds to your host earnings. In some circumstances and at our full discretion, we may also remove the guest from Resortifi.

Criteria for reporting a smoking violation (evidence required)

  • Guest admits to smoking or vaping in the vehicle
  • You find compelling evidence of ash that can be clearly distinguished from sand, dirt, or other debris and reveals abusive behavior in the interior of the vehicle
  • You find burn marks present in check-out photos that weren’t present in check-in photos
  • You find a cigarette or rolled marijuana cigarette that has been smoked

Smoking violation fee

  • $150* – US, Australia, Canada, UK
  • €50 – France

We have measures in place that let us track guests behavior and protect hosts from repeat bookings with guests who’ve violated our policies. The best way to protect yourself and other hosts is to review the trip and choose a star rating that’s an honest reflection of your experience with the guest.
