Clutch repair
You may receive a proportional reimbursement for the cost to repair a damaged clutch if you meet eligibility requirements.
Eligibility for clutch repair reimbursement
You’re eligible for a proportional reimbursement for clutch repair if you meet the following criteria:
- Your vehicle is less than five years old and has its original clutch or is more than five years old and a factory-certified mechanic replaced the clutch with OEM parts less than 5 years ago; AND
- An ASE or other certified mechanic provides written certification that a guest misused and damaged the clutch
Proportional reimbursement
The amount you’ll receive in proportional reimbursement depends on three factors:
- Resortifi’s presumed normal clutch lifespan of a clutch as 75,000 miles (120,700 km). If you have documentation that your clutch has a longer lifespan, submit it with your damage claim.
- The number of miles driven since clutch installation.
- The deductible amount associated with the protection plan you chose.
Example
Your vehicle’s clutch has a presumed lifespan 75,000 miles (120,700 km), but it failed at 50,000 miles (80,467 km) due to guest misuse. We determine the clutch had one-third of its life remaining. The shop estimates a total repair cost of $1,200. When the damage occurred, your car was under a protection plan with a $250 deductible. We’ll reimburse you for one-third of the repair costs in excess of your deductible amount. So, one-third of the $1,200 repair estimate is $400. Subtract your $250 deductible, and you’ll receive $150 in reimbursement.
