Protection plans – In brief | US hosts

Resortifi makes five different protection plans available to US hosts; how much a plan costs and how much you’ll earn depends on which plan you choose. Learn more about plan.

Protection plan cost

How much a US host protection plan costs depends on the plan you choose. Each plan represents a percentage of the trip price you’ll keep and entitles you to reimbursements for different items. The more earnings you keep, the higher your deductible. We use “deductible” to mean the amount you pay before you’re eligible for reimbursement if there’s physical damage to your car during a guest’s trip.

You’ll choose a plan for your vehicle when you create your listing and can change it at any time. If you have more than one vehicle listed, you can choose different plans for each. Changes won’t apply to pending trip requests, booked, or in-progress trips. Learn how to change your protection plan.

US host plan summaries

Protection plans provide for reimbursement for eligible physical damage costs in excess of your plan’s deductible for the Reservation Period** only. Resortifi will reimburse Hosts for eligible Physical Damage costs above the Deductible, subject to terms and exclusions, for either the cost of repair or, the Actual Cash Value (ACV) of the Vehicle up to $200,000 in case of a total loss. Resortifi retains sole discretion to pay repair costs or ACV. You may decide to increase the amount of personal insurance you carry if you want additional protection.

The protection plan your guest chooses is separate from your own. A guest’s plan limits their out-of-pocket payment for eligible damage to their car on a trip. Your plan provides physical damage reimbursement for your vehicle.

*All protection plans include coverage under a third-party automobile liability insurance policy issued to Resortifi from Travelers Excess and Surplus Lines Company (“Travelers”). Liability coverage is $750,000 for all host protection plans. Some states and some airports require additional coverage. This includes vehicles in the state of New York, where liability coverage is $1,250,000 from Travelers Excess.

**The Reservation Period is the period shown for a booked trip. It begins at the trip start time listed in the reservation and when the vehicle is in the custody or control of the guest. It ends the earlier of the trip end time or when the vehicle is returned to the host or to the location designated in the reservation.

***The Delivery Period is the time when the host or Resortifi-approved driver designee, is actively delivering the car to the primary guest who’s reserved delivery, and ends when the car has been delivered to the primary guest. The period doesn’t include the time when the host or designee is retrieving the car at the end of the trip. There is third-party liability insurance available during the Delivery Period if the guest books delivery in the reservation, but no contractual reimbursement for physical damage to the host’s car during the Delivery Period.

†If Physical Damage results from an “act of nature” (e.g., flood, earthquake, hail, windstorm, etc.), the Host will receive reimbursement subject to their selected protection plan for the reservation.

‡For eligible vehicles* under the 60 plan, Resortifi is responsible for reimbursing exterior wear and tear costs for confirmed, new physical Damage that is less than 3” only. Interior wear and tear isn’t included. Resortifi considers vehicles that have fewer than 24,000 miles AND are two years old or less, eligible for the wear and tear benefit as well as vehicles in the Super Deluxe class. Resortifi uses a third-party vehicle valuation vendor to determine the Total Market Value of vehicles listed on our platform, which determines vehicle class on the platform.
