Personal insurance requirements | Hosts
You must have your own car insurance to list your vehicle on our platform and must choose one of the protection plans Resortifi makes available for hosts.
Required insurance
You must have personal insurance to be a host on Resortifi and must follow all applicable registration and insurance laws and regulations. Resortifi requires hosts in Australia to have CTP insurance, also known as CTP green slip, and to notify their CTP insurer of plans to share their vehicle on Resortifi.
Required documentation
You must keep copies of the following documentation in your vehicle at all times and tell guests where to find them:
- Personal insurance card: Your insurance card is proof of financial responsibility if a guest is pulled over or involved in an accident.
- Resortifi incident information card: This card contains important liability insurance, roadside assistance, and accident information. It does not meet financial responsibility requirements for your vehicle to be registered, which is why we require your personal insurance card.
- Certificate of insurance: Applicable to hosts in Canada, France, and the UK.
- Vehicle registration
Required protection plan
Hosts must choose a protection plan offered via Resortifi. Protection plans in all countries except Australia include liability insurance provided by a third-party policy.
- Plans in the US and the UK include a contract with Resortifi for physical damage reimbursement, which isn’t insurance
- Plans in Australia include protection against legal liability for damage to someone else’s property and protection for damage to your vehicle
- Plans in France include insurance for physical damage reimbursement
- Plans in Canada include insurance for physical damage. The initial portion Is handled under a contract with Resortifi for reimbursement and the remainder under a third-party insurance policy.
