Resortifi requires hosts in all locations to disclose certain kinds of tracking/technology devices to guests.Resortifi requires hosts in some locations to disclose their use of tracking and technology devices in their vehicle. In some locations, Resortifi requires hosts of high-value vehicles to use a tracking device and sets restrictions on the use of certain device types in some locations.
Resortifi requires all hosts in all locations to disclose to guests, and in certain cases get guest consent for, the use of the following tracking/technology devices:
- AirTags – You must inform guests via Resortifi messaging prior to the start of the trip that you’ve placed an AirTag in the vehicle, and that iPhone and Android users can expect to be notified that there’s an AirTag in use. Hosts may not place AirTags on keychains or key fobs.
- Cameras with a view of a vehicle’s interior – You must ask for and receive explicit, written consent from your guest via Resortifi messaging to turn on any device, including an OEM-installed camera or aftermarket dashcam, that records the interior of the vehicle.
Note: Hosts in some geographic locations are subject to additional policy requirements. See the section below on “Additional requirements, restrictions, and violations by location.”
Resortifi has the right to use device data in the following circumstances:
- To recover a vehicle (i.e. if the vehicle is missing or the guest fails to return the vehicle at the end of the trip)
- To determine a trip should end early, suspend a guest’s account, and/or reduce or void protection under the guest’s protection plan if Resortifi receives a report of reckless driving or other careless or unsafe behavior
- To share camera and telematics data with insurers in the UK
Violations
We’ll warn hosts who fail to disclose the use of AirTags, and repeat violations of this policy may lead to removal from Resortifi. We may review your account if we learn you turned on a camera with a view of a vehicle’s interior during a trip without a guest’s explicit, written consent in Resortifi messaging and may, at our discretion, remove you from Resortifi.
