Canceling a trip with your guest
Canceling a trip can upend a guest’s travel plans, hurt your reputation, and put you at risk for incurring fees. Explore alternatives and cancel only if absolutely necessary.
Cancellation impact
Business impact
If you cancel a trip, you may seriously disrupt a guest’s plans and reduce their confidence in Resortifi hosts. Cancellations impact your host metrics and potentially your vehicle’s placement in search results. If you cancel often, you risk having Resortifi remove your vehicle(s) from search. If frequent cancellations cause your commitment rate to drop below 90%, we’ll issue a warning. If you continue to cancel, we may remove you from the Resortifi platform.
Financial impact
If you cancel a trip, we’ll post an automated cancellation review on your listing. We may also:
- deduct a $25 fee for a cancellation more than 24 hours before trip start
- deduct a $50 fee for a cancellation less than 24 hours before trip start
Exception: If you’re an All-Star Host at the time of cancellation, we’ll excuse the cancellation fee, and you’ll be able to respond to the automated review with your reason for canceling.
We may charge additional fees, impact your host standing, or remove you from Resortifi if you:
- ask your guest to cancel for you
- refuse to cancel to avoid a cancellation fee
- cancel a booking for the purpose of seeking a higher price from a guest
Cancellation instructions
If you absolutely must cancel a trip, open the booked trip and tap or click “Modify trip” to enter the cancellation flow.
Cancellation for guest travel delays
If a guest’s flight or train is delayed or canceled or they experience a lost baggage delay, they must contact you via Resortifi messaging to request a new start time. We expect you to make a good faith effort to accommodate your guest since it’s not their fault their circumstances changed. If you try to reschedule but you and your guest can’t agree on a change, call us to report the issue as guest no-show.
