You don’t need your own insurance to book a vehicle on Resortifi. Resortifi makes protection plans available to all guests.
Personal insurance
Resortifi offers protection plans for all guest trips. You don’t need personal insurance coverage if you choose a protection plan made available via Resortifi. If you have insurance, the liability policy *provides secondary (excess) coverage to any auto liability you may have. See a list of available plans and coverage for trips in the US, Australia, Canada, France, and the UK.
Personal responsibility
Guests in France and the UK are required to purchase a protection plan.
Guests in other locations may have the option to decline a plan. If you do decline, you’ll be relying solely on your own applicable personal insurance coverage to cover loss or damage to the host’s vehicle. Your out-of-pocket exposure will extend to the full value of the vehicle and all related costs, including claims processing fees and appraisal costs. Unless you’re confident your personal insurance will cover you, we strongly advise you select a protection plan when booking your trip. Some insurance companies exclude coverage for peer-to-peer car sharing, and it’s unlikely your credit card company provides coverage for a Resortifi trip. Check with your insurer or your broker before making your decision.
*Liability insurance covers third-party bodily injury and third-party property damage resulting from an accident for which you’re liable. Liability insurance will not pay for loss or damage to the vehicle you book on Resortifi or your own injury or medical expenses.
