Update your protection plan
Learn how to request to add, change, or remove a protection plan before your trip starts. UK guests can’t remove or decline protection, and some guests may have limited plan options.
How to update your protection plan on the web
Open the drop-down menu next to your profile photo in the upper right of the screen
Choose Trips from the dropdown menu
Find and click on the Booked trip you’d like to
- Click “Add protection” (to add a plan) or
- Click “Modify trip” and “Change protection” to choose a new plan
Make changes and click “Update” to save, or to leave without making changes, click “Cancel”
How to update your protection plan on the app
- Tap Trips tab
- Tap the trip you’d like to change
- Tap “Modify trip” and tap “Protection”
- Choose the plan you’d like
- Tap “Save,”or to leave without making changes, tap X in the upper left of the screen
Note: We may limit the plans available to you or prevent you from declining a protection plan based on certain trip details, vehicle type, or other factors. Guests in the UK can’t decline protection plans.
Note: When you make a change, we’ll notify your host. If they accept your request, we’ll record the change and charge any balance due or process a refund. If they don’t respond, reject your change, or the system blocks your request, your plan choice remains unchanged.
